We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee P6 Planner to join our Rail Division, based from our York office - and there has never been a better time to join! The Role As a Trainee Planner you will be required to support the Planning and Project Controls function. You will support the existing P6 Planners with delivering the below tasks and will gain on the job experience. (Other training will be provided as required (e.g. for Primavera P6, other software packages, personal development training etc.) Existing P6 Planners will create logic linked network programmes using specialist planning software (Primavera P6) to forecast the project delivery timescale. When the project becomes live, they gather actual data on project progress, update project schedules and develop reliable schedule forecasts with support from the project team (PMs, Engineers, QS s etc.) as well as supplying our clients with monthly progress reports. Support is also given to tendering for future works, as well as supporting the business internally with forward looking planning reports, crucial for visibility of future upcoming works and our ability to deliver them. Key Responsibilities Assist P6 Planners with updating project programmes with actual progress and to forecast future activities Assist project teams with producing periodic reports as required by the business or clients Attend internal and client meetings to understand the planning requirements Carry out simple updates on various programmes across all portfolios Benefits At Story Contracting, we invest in our people. The Ideal Candidate: Capacity to manage a high volume of workload effectively Excellent working knowledge of IT systems, specifically Microsoft Office suite Excellent communication skills Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Knowledge or experience of rail process (advantageous) Knowledge of Project Lifecycle (advantageous) Why Story Contracting?
