NHS AfC: Band 8b (£54,764 - £63,862 per annum, depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week

About this vacancy
Thank you for your interest in University Hospitals Sussex, there has never been a better time to join us. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and talented Senior Capital Development Manager to play a leading role within the Trust's Capital Development and Property Directorate.
This post offers the right individual the chance to lead one of the Trust's Major construction projects with a value of £15m to £45m. You will report to the Deputy Director of Capital Development and Property and be based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with frequent travel to the relevant site at which the project is being delivered. These major projects are essential in supporting the Trust to deliver our refreshed clinical strategy and excellent patient care. You will be educated to degree level in either electrical/mechanical engineering or in an architectural/construction related discipline and have clear evidence of continuing professional development.
You will have a demonstrable track record of successfully delivering engineering and/or construction projects in complex environments to delegated budgets. You will have delivered projects utilising NEC and/or JCT contractual frameworks, and have proven skills in effective people management, communication and understand the importance of stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of technical and regulatory standards, and work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including clinicians, local authorities, design teams and contractors. Understanding the importance of stakeholder relationships is therefore essential.
Bringing an attention to detail, skills include excellent oral and written communication, planning and scheduling events, preparing reports, managing risk, and establishing document management systems. Discretion and trustworthiness are essential as you will often be party to confidential information.
