About the role The successful candidates main duties will include assisting the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and the general running of the classroom, and supporting students with additional needs both academically and emotionally. All staff will take part in regular ongoing training in SEND. About the school We are recruiting for Learning Support Assistant's in North Tyneside for local schools who believe that all children, irrespective of their starting point are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum designed to give all students the opportunity to develop as inquisitive individuals who feel valued and respected. Pupils are aged from 2-18 years with a diverse range of SEND including Autism, physical, medical, sensory needs and / or moderate learning difficulties The school's aim is to create a secure, vibrant, supportive learning environment in which our whole school team educate their children, value their individuality and encourage them and help them to ensure they leave school happy and healthy prepared adults, ready to take their next steps in life. Requirements To be considered for the role of SEND Learning Support Assistant - North Tyneside you will: Previous experience of working in an educational or care setting with young people or adults with learning difficulties. Have a desire to engage and support children and young people in learning and education. Manual handling training is desirable but not essential. Calm, patient and empathetic. Ideally hold a level 2 or 3 health and social care or teaching assistant qualification. Happy assisting children in and out of the hydrotherapy pool. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Previous experience of working in an educational or care setting with young people or adults with learning difficulties.
