Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Prototyper & Tester for our client based in Bishop s Stortford on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will support New Product Development and sustainability projects through review, repair, assembly and testing of prototypes and existing equipment. This will include electromechanical and wire harness assembly, functional testing, and performance testing. Roles & Responsibilities: Assembling, repairing, improving, and building mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. Providing services necessary to perform tests. Working from print, drawings, verbal, and written instructions and be able to understand specifications. Reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams and build instructions. Planning the use of test benches according to projects, technical changes or other mandates requiring their use. Operating test equipment to measure temperature, electricity, flow, pressure, voltage, distance, time, noise, and weight. Working with data acquisition systems, recordings, and drawings with provided training on said systems. Entering the data, in a detailed manner, of the tests carried out in the laboratory notebook (paper or electronic), preparing a summary of the results, and performing basic computer calculations and analyses when applicable. Participating in events to prepare production for new products. Suggesting ways, procedures, and methods to improve the quality of products and the achievement of project objectives. Aiding in the analysis of equipment breakdowns (service assemblies), fault finding, and preventative maintenance. Participating in the analysis of technical problems and proposal of solutions. Maintaining R&D equipment and performing preventative maintenance. Applying spot/stud welding to equipment. Demonstrating ease of working in a machine shop. Being able to use metal working tools, such as a lathe, mill, drill press and band saw. Ensuring that work areas are kept clean and tidy. Participating in health and safety policies. Using internal company software Confirming compliance of components to relevant standards. Participating in obsolescence management and sourcing to support the supply chain. Any other duties as required. Experience, Education & Qualifications: Diploma of professional studies in welding / assembly and / or in-house training A minimum of one year of work experience in a product development or product enhancement environment is required or a minimum of two years of work experience as a device tester in production. Experience in using equipment and measuring tools for electrical, hydraulic, and electronic tests would be preferable. Precision and attention to detail Mechanical and electrical understanding and other disciplines such as plumbing Prioritise multiple projects, work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks Proficient in verbal and written communication within a manufacturing environment Logical and systematic approach to problem solving MS office windows computer literate (Word, excel, outlook) Working hours are Monday Friday In return our client offers a salary of £23,000 - £29,000 per annum, with bonus.
