Proactive Personnel are recruiting for a Finance Office Assistant for a client based in Oswestry.

Main Responsibilities

  • To process all required invoices on a daily basis including Raw Material & Sundry invoices.
  • To undertake Farmer Self Billing reconciliation and raising of invoices on a weekly basis.
  • To undertake reconciliation of all internal (intercompany charges) and external (including raw materials and sundry supplier) statements on a weekly basis and process supplier payments as approved within specified deadlines through the month.
  • To monitor and maintain GAFTA supplier contracts and track deliveries against overall contract amounts.
  • To monitor and maintain creditor ledger.
  • To undertake reconciliation of the finance system against the transactional system on a monthly basis to keep accurate records.
  • To ensure purchase ledger month end processes are all completed to agreed deadlines.
  • To undertake reconciliation of company fuel cards statements, produce an accurate account, and highlight any discrepancies on a monthly basis.
  • To raise invoices on a daily basis including invoices for manufactured and non-manufactured products and company recharges.
  • To update and reconcile the cash books for the allocated mill on a daily basis.
  • To instruct customer direct debits on a daily basis.
  • To ensure all sales leger month end processes and reconciliations are all completed to agreed deadlines.
  • To provide information, as requested, on a monthly basis for auditing purposes.
  • To undertake general administration and ensure all records are kept up to date as appropriate.
  • To provide cover within the finance office as required.

Educational Level:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent.


  • Experience working in a finance and administration environment
  • Purchase ledger experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Accurate data recording and inputting skills.
  • Excellent ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines.
  • Able to use financial business systems and Microsoft excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Monday to Friday - 8.30am - 5.00pm
