Job title: F&B Manager Salary: Up to 30,000 GBP Location: Near Keswick, Cumbria Type of contract: Permanent Workplace description: Set in 2 acres of tranquil wooded gardens, this privately owned family-run hotel with panoramic views of Borrowdale Valley, serves traditional British cuisine and local Lakeland produce, including lamb, game and fish. There is an extensive wine list, and guests can also enjoy afternoon tea in the cosy lounge by the open fire. As the Food and Beverage Manager you will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering excellent guest experiences. You will forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximise sales and revenue through guest satisfaction and employee engagement. We have 30 rooms open for guests and can do a max of 50 covers in the restaurant, this is usually between 30 & 40. We don't do weddings or conferences most our guests are professional retired people and 75% are returning. The shift patterns can be 8am -12pm - breakfast service and then lay-up ready for dinner then back on at 6pm for dinner service which usually finishes between 10 & 10.30pm 1pm where we look after any light lunches and help reception check guests in (you won't be expected to do this until you are happy) along with other little jobs to get ready for dinner, you would then help with dinner service until 10 -10.30pm Responsibilities Take responsibility for the business performance of the Food & Beverage area Create and execute plans for departmental sales, profit and staff development Plan and coordinate menus, working closely with the head chef Coordinate the operation of the Food & Beverage department ensuring that kitchen, bar and waiting staff are working as a team Recruit, train, manage and motivate staff Respond to guest queries and complaints Meet and greet guests, organise table reservations and offer advise regarding menu and wine choices Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety Check stock levels, order supplies and prepare cash drawers and petty cash Comply with licensing laws and other legal requirements. Process payroll and maintain all relevant records Follow and implement all existing S.O.P. s Control and coordinate your team accordingly to the occupancy. Attention to detail regarding all aspects of the job Control of the existing operational equipment Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence. Ensure the smooth running of the events and functions Responsible for the smooth running and safety of the hotel on the absence of the General Manager Plan alternative recipes for guests with special dietary needs Adhere to food, health and safety standards Communicate and build strong relationships with vendors For this role you will need: 2 years restaurant management experience Passion for Restaurant service Be able to commit to full time hours- 40hrs/week Accommodation provided: Yes Charge for accommodation: 180 GBP per month Important Notes: 1.
