Computer Science Teacher Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: MPS / UPS GSL Education are a national, ethical, independent recruitment provider who helps schools and local authorities with additional and interim staffing solutions. As such, GSL Education are seeking a Computer Science Teacher for a reputable secondary school in York. The role is to start as soon as possible and will include teaching across Years 7 to 11. About the Job Role: Planning and delivering Computer Science across Years 7 to 11, including GCSE. Cover essential and up to date IT skills. Help students design and create their own software tools through practical programming in a range of languages including Scratch, Python, HTML, and Java. Engage students in open discussions and tasks based around E-safety and living life online. Embed the schools resources into engaging lessons, such as the use of online tutorial sites and fun learning tools to develop a sound knowledge base in Key Stage 3 ready to be built on in Key Stage 4. Students will complete their GCSE AQA Computer Science 8520 qualification.Ideal Computer Science Teacher Requirements: Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with a relevant Degree. Have recent experience teaching GCSE Computer Science. Be a subject ambassador, promoting engagement across the department and school. Be able to provide 2 teaching references from within the last 2 years. Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
