Milling Assistant Production Manager/SupervisorHoliday: 28 Days Inc bank holidays and company shutdowns.Hours: 7.30am - 4pm 30min Lunch Job PurposeTo be a fully integrated member of the management team:• Assist to supervise Managing the 5 Axis Milling / Mill Turn Department and development of the team• Assist in Managing a small team of 10.• Developing and helping managing the production processes and needs of the business including the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.• Being the pivotal link between the shop-floor, Sales and the and Quality.• Maintaining quality standards across the shop floor (AS9100 REV D)• Improving and establishing future processes and roles on the shop floor.• Assist in generating and maintaining a production plan to ensure we are maximizing efficiency, machine utilization quality as well and meeting customer targets and due date.• The key performance measurements for the role are: Internal and external quality, On Time delivery, Managing area,, and Customer Satisfaction.Key tasks• Assist to Manage the Milling sections production team engendering a team approach, maintaining open communication and being a role model• Ensuring the most effective work process flow in order to meet Customer deliveries schedules.• Establish and maintain the feedback loop to the Customer Services team ensuring that the Customer is kept updated on progress• Ensure that quality standards are adhered to and met with lessons learned when appropriate• Improving existing production system with the use of Mietrak, optimising machine utilization and output and is line with expected profitability for each job.• Monitoring Cimco system and increasing productivity by 10% within the first 6 months• Reporting weekly and monthly production statistics to senior management.• Develop and evolve the Production Team and structure to meet the changing needs and culture of Rotec.• Assess and approve quotations for new work with particular focus on: operating time, machine availability, delivery dates, cost of tooling and consumables, availability of materials and risks• Improve and maintain a housekeeping regime to make sure the level of cleanliness required is achieved at all times• Ensure that capacity/scheduling analysis is carried out on a regular basis and appropriate steps are taken in relationship to the data created so bottlenecks are eliminated, and optimum output is achieved.• Build a no surprises cultureEducation, Experience / Qualifications• Leadership skills.• Knowledge of experience gained whilst working in a production planning department and Customer sales areas. • Conversant with ISO 90001:2015 and AS9100 quality systems and standards would be an advantage.• Computer literate and able to use software packages i.e. Sage, Excel, Office and Word.• Production management experience, preferably in Automotive/Aerospace.• Experienced with Lean deployment, flow and layout, Cellular, DLA and Continuous Improvement concepts, and able to implement them to increase productivity and remove waste.• Experience of achieving goals and manufacturing business strategies via KPIs and other measurables.• Able to challenge the status quo and facilitate continuous improvement.• Excellent verbal and communication skills including report writing.Sectional goals• Achieve Customer On-time Delivery of 95%• Overdue deliveries - zero• Improve overall shop floor efficiency.• Maintain quality standards.• Helping adhere to ISO and AS9100 rev d• 100% paperwork trail from start to finishCall Sonia Barrett on and email your CV to
