My client is a long established (since 1985) family run company, who are an integrated facilities services provider and manager of all types of commercial, industrial and institutional property. In thirty five years it has grown from its original commercial cleaning roots and diversified into property maintenance and refurbishment, security and facilities management and now has a turnover of circa £13m as a result of solely organic growth. The company have historically had an excellent record of retention of both contracts and staff and they have Area Managers who have been with them for 20 years. This vacancy is a new role adding to the current team of eight Area Managers who all report into the Senior Operations Manager. The role has come about as the client has decided to lower the number of contracts each Area Manager manages to continue to deliver excellent service levels. The contracts for this role will be located in SW London areas such as Wimbledon, Lambeth, Walton on Thames, Weybridge etc. The contracts will be in the financial, general commercial or educational sectors. The contracts are all being well run and there will be no fire fighting. The main duties for this opportunity will include, but not be limited to: Managing a team of Supervisors and Cleaners and ensuring they fully comply with company procedures and regulations. Ensuring operative team are aware of their daily duties, have sufficient resources for their completion, and maintain standards through a monitoring programme Provide a comprehensive cleaning service and to ensure a high standard of work is undertaken and maintained. Achieve fair distribution of duties, which may include redeploying cleaning assistance where necessary. Keep track of attendances and manage the rescheduling of cleaning staff to cover absences Prepare monthly reports, delivering reports to clients, and maintaining client communications throughout the contract duration. Carry out monthly audits with clients Attend monthly meetings with Clients/Line Manager Prepare and submit wages to payroll department Updating staff records and the Training Matrix Co-ordinate and Manage all contract operational aspects Maintain client satisfaction, complaint handling, and mitigation. Health and Safety management, compliance, and reporting in-line with RIDDOR. Ensure educational contract are organised in advance for non-term time deep cleaning rotas, delegate operations fairly. Conduct HR duties as appropriate- Meetings, investigations, disciplinaries, grievance hearings, appraisals. Time management- for site visits and efficient responses to client and line manager emails/calls Maintaining professional knowledge and maintaining CPD. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities We are looking for an individual who will be able to hit the ground running with this role. As such, it is vital that applicants have a history of Soft Service Cleaning and have worked within a corporate environment,. Candidates must be able to display excellent client and staff facing communication, be able to give evidence of successful management skills, and display competent knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures. As auditing and reporting is done digitally, it is a requirement to have excellent computer skills; especially in Word and Excel. Candidates for this role should have excellent time management skills (including confidence in delegating), have an approachable management style, show confidence and a down to earth get the job done attitude.
